When we founded BUCKBRED, we didn’t do it to become just another feed company pushing bags of cheap corn or high-sugar deer candy. We did it because, as landowners and hunters ourselves, we were tired of seeing short-term attractants marketed as actual “wildlife nutrition.” We knew that to truly honor the wildlife and the land, nutrition had to be intentional, science-informed, and aligned with ethical land management.
BUCKBRED is a family-owned business, and that means our name and our values are backed by every single block of feed we produce.
Our daily operations and growth are led by Amy, ensuring that our business is run with the transparency, ethics, and long-term vision that our customers deserve. Supporting her is Rick, who brings over 45 years of boots-on-the-ground experience in hunting, ranch ownership, and wildlife habitat management. Rick makes sure that our products don’t just work in a laboratory on paper—they work in the mud, the timber, and the real world.
To bridge the gap between field experience and hard biology, our son, Kody, provides direct consultation and scientific insight. Drawing from his education in life sciences and his professional work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Game and Fish departments, Kody ensures that every formula we create respects the complex four-chambered digestive system of a whitetail deer.
This combination of practical field experience, scientific understanding, and proven business management is what makes BUCKBRED different. We aren’t a nameless corporate conglomerate guessing at what hunters want. We understand both the biological needs of wildlife and the high expectations of landowners because we live it every day.
We don’t promise you “giant antlers in a bag,” because you cannot buy native genetics. What we do promise is a science-backed fuel source that will help your local herd reach its absolute genetic ceiling, survive harsh seasonal stress, and thrive for generations to come.
